90-minute Trigger Point Massage $140

At Soar Therapy and Integrated Wellness, trigger point therapy is designed for people who can point to exactly where it hurts. Many clients come to us saying.
“It’s always my neck.”
“My jaw is constantly tight.”
“I get the same headache over and over.”
or
“There’s one spot in my shoulder that never lets go.”

These patterns are often not random. They develop when muscles remain contracted for long periods of time, often due to chronic stress, anxiety, posture, or emotional strain. Over time, the body adapts by holding tension in very specific places, creating pain that feels stubborn, persistent, or referred to other areas.

This work is for individuals seeking focused relief, not a full-body massage.

How Trigger Point Therapy Works

Trigger point therapy focuses on specific areas of muscle and fascia that have become hypersensitive and restricted. These trigger points can limit movement, reproduce pain in other parts of the body, and intensify during periods of stress or emotional overload.

Using precise sustained pressure, therapists work directly with these areas to encourage release, restore circulation, and reduce referred pain patterns. Sessions are intentional and focused, allowing time to work deeply without overwhelming the nervous system.

Many clients notice that once a trigger point releases, movement feels easier, pain reduces, and the body feels less guarded in that area.

When Stress, Anxiety and Trauma Create Hot Spots in the Body

When the nervous system stays activated for long periods, the body often responds by tightening specific muscles to protect itself. Common areas include

  • Neck and upper shoulders
  • Jaw and face
  • Upper back between the shoulder blades
  • Lower back or hips
  • Areas associated with tension headaches or nerve irritation

Clients often report that these areas are tense without conscious awareness, especially during stressful conversations, workdays, or emotional moments.

Trigger point therapy helps interrupt this pattern by addressing the exact locations where the body has learned to hold stress. As these areas release, the nervous system often follows, allowing for both physical relief and a sense of ease.

A Trauma-Informed Approach

All trigger point sessions at Soar are provided using trauma-informed principles. Therapists prioritize communication, consent, pacing, and client comfort throughout the session.

Pressure is applied intentionally, not forcefully, and clients are encouraged to give feedback at any time. The goal is not to push through discomfort but to work with the body in a way that feels effective, safe, and respectful.

This approach allows the body to release tension at its own pace while supporting nervous system regulation and trust.

How Trigger Point Therapy Is Different from Deep Tissue Massage

Trigger point therapy focuses on specific areas of tension and pain patterns.
Deep tissue massage targets larger muscle groups.

Trigger point therapy is ideal if your pain feels localized, repetitive, or referred.
Deep tissue massage is more effective when tension is widespread or constant throughout the body.

If you are unsure which service is right for you, our therapists can help guide the session based on your symptoms and goals.

Integrative Wellness and Mental Health Connection

Our licensed massage therapists work alongside our mental health clinicians to support clients holistically. While counseling helps explore thoughts, emotions, and patterns, bodywork helps release what’s been held physically. Together, these approaches create space for lasting change inside and out.
